Volunteer With CVUSC
CVUSC operates with the help of with over 400 volunteers every year.
Hundreds of our members — players, parents, and supporters — step forward every season, and it is their work that supports approximately 4500 program registrations in the Comox Valley. Whether acting as a coach or manager, supporting equipment and KIT management, serving on the Board of Directors, helping with special events, or offering you time on any of the other tasks that keep our programs running, we appreciate you!
The club proudly works with over 400 volunteers annually. What we are able to accomplish as a club, is limited only by the number of people we can get involved.
You do not need to be a soccer player
Being a soccer player is not a prerequisite for volunteering here. Many volunteer opportunities only require your time and passion.
To ask whether either role is currently open, email volunteer@cvusc.org
All volunteers over the age of 16 will also be required to obtain a Police Criminal Record Check (CRC) if they are accepted for a position.

Criminal Record Checks
Every coach, assistant coach, team manager, division manager and anyone else working directly with youth needs a cleared Criminal Record Check on file with the club. BC Soccer requires it to be redone every three years.
The club runs this process, so it is not something you set up yourself. Contact our Risk Management Officer, Naomi, at naomi@cvusc.org. You will then be entered into the BC Government Criminal Record Check system, and that system will email you the instructions.
Volunteering
The Comox Valley United Soccer Club (CVUSC) came into existence almost 20 years ago and its continued success lies squarely on the hard work and valued commitment of our many volunteers. On an annual basis we see hundreds of our members, whether players or parents, step forward and make contributions that make soccer happen here in the Comox Valley. Whether as a coach, a board member, a volunteer at special events, or any other task or duty you take on to help our club deliver our many programs, that effort is truly appreciated. What we can accomplish as a club moving forward is only limited by the people we have engaged in making soccer happen.
To make the “volunteer” experience successful our club has a dedicated “Volunteer Coordinator” that can help steer you toward a task that suits your time constraints and skill set. Being a “soccer player” is not a prerequisite to being a volunteer at the club. We have many duties and responsibilities that do not involve on field coaching or soccer experience. All you need is the willingness to contribute and some time to help out. I would encourage you to become a part of our soccer family and reach out to our “Volunteer Coordinator” and see where you can fit in and contribute!
Volunteering is good for the soul!
The Comox Valley United Soccer Club proudly works with over 400 volunteers annually. These dedicated individuals donate their time and talents to ensure every player at CVUSC has a positive soccer experience.
Volunteer roles include:
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Team Manager
- Division Manager
- Team Fundraising Coordinator
- Executive / Board Member
Please note that it's the CVUSC's policy that all volunteers complete the appropriate Volunteer Application Form. All volunteers over the age of 16 will be required to obtain a Police Criminal Record Check (CRC) if accepted for a volunteer position. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our “Volunteer Coordinator”
