General Registration Information

Players selected for a Select team must register before attending player placement sessions.  Registration for the 2021/2022 Select season will open in June.

Team size is governed by the minimum and maximum players set by BCSA. The number of teams formed in each division may have to be limited (specifically U13-U18). To ensure your child has the best opportunity to play soccer, register early!

If registration in your VYSL division is full, do not despair!  As the division managers work on forming teams and additional coaches are identified we may be able to open more spaces in a particular division.  To have your child placed on a wait list, please contact the Registrar As spaces become available players will be taken from the wait list on a first-come-first-served basis.  Please check your email for a notice of transfer from the wait list and instructions on how to pay your invoice.

Our online registration system accepts payment by Visa or MasterCard.  If paying online with a credit card your registration will be processed immediately.

If you opt to pay by cash or cheque, you need to do the following: create your child's profile online, continue through all the checkout stages, when you get to the final payment screen click on "read more".   This will open a page where you need to download 2 forms.  Please bring those to the office with payment as soon as you can.Your child's registration is not complete until we receive both forms and payment at the office.  Office hours are posted on the home page of the website.

All new players (first time registrations) joining the club for the first time must provide Proof of Birth Date to complete their registration.  Please scan and email or drop off at our office a copy of a Birth Certificate, Passport, Citizenship Card or Sworn Affidavit to the address at the bottom of this page.  Care Cards are accepted.

Any player who is not registered and paid in full before the start of any season is not insured and will not be permitted to practice or play.

All players will play in their correct division, based on birth year.  Exceptions to this rule are limited and must be approved by our VP Development.   The online registration system will automatically place players in the correct division based on their age.  If an exception is approved the player's registration will be transferred manually after the approval is received.

Financial Assistance Information

Subject to approval by the club executive, we may be able to provide a discount for certain registrations; however, we do ask that every applicant for financial assistance apply to an outside source, such as the KidSport or Jumpstart, for possible funding. The KidSport Fund is administered by Sport BC and its mission is to overcome the financial obstacles that prevent some young people from playing sport "So All Kids Can Play". For more information on the KidSport Fund and instructions on how to apply, click here.

Uniforms and Equipment

Player's Kit

Having the right gear helps players stay comfortable, safe, and ready to play.

To promote safety and consistency, players are required to have the proper equipment. Shin guards are mandatory for all players and must be worn under socks during every practice and game. Soccer cleats are required for outdoor play, while non-marking indoor shoes are needed for indoor sessions.

Players should also bring a labeled water bottle to stay hydrated and avoid mix-ups.

Club-provided jerseys must be worn during games, and players are expected to keep their uniforms in good condition.

Click on the tabs below to find out further information.

What kit is supplied and what does a player supply?

PDL Division (U12-U18):
Players receive two jerseys (home and away) at the beginning of the season, which must be returned at the end of the season. If jerseys are not returned, the replacement cost will be invoiced. Players are expected to keep both Jerseys in good condition.

Each Player keeps a training t-shirt, club shorts, and club socks. They must bring their own shin guards and cleats.

VYSL League (U3-U7) (Timbits Program):
Players keep a Timbits jersey and socks. They receive a Timbits ball and medal at season’s end. Shin guards and cleats must be supplied.

VYSL League (U8 and Up):
Players keep a club jersey or club training shirt. They must bring their own socks, shin guards, and cleats.

UDP Program (U8-U13):
New players or players who have outgrown their previous training shirt will receive a new training t-shirt. Shin guards with socks and clean cleats or turf shoes are required.

UPP Program (U14-U18):
Players do not receive shirts. They must bring their own shin guards, socks, and cleats. If participating in an indoor session, players must wear non-marking indoor shoes or futsal shoes.

Super Soccer Saturday Program (U8 -U12+):
No training shirt provided. Players must bring their own socks, shin guards, and wear non-marking indoor shoes or futsal shoes.

Summit Program (U8 and Up):
Players receive a training top. They must bring their own shin guards with socks and cleats.

Academy (U12 & U13):
Players receive two jerseys (home and away) at the beginning of the season, which must be returned at the end of the season. If jerseys are not returned, the replacement cost will be invoiced. Players are expected to keep both Jerseys in good condition.

Players do not receive a training t-shirt. They must bring their own shin guards and cleats.

What do I do with old jerseys?

At the Club we have a Jersey Return Program. This is a completely optional initiative. Over time, some families may have collected multiple jerseys in the same color or have ones their players have outgrown.

If you'd like to pass them along, you're welcome to return any washed and gently used jerseys to the clubhouse during office hours.

If you have any questions about your kit, please contact our Operations Manager, Naomi at naomi@cvusc.org.
